My Passion

GOLF

Hi my name is Brooklynn Shell!

I am super passionate about golf. I played on the PGA golf team at Triple Crown Country Club, and this is how it started. My dad is a golfer there and has always wanted me to play.He said to me,” Brooklynn why don”t you give golf a try.” I thought of it for a little bit and I said,But dad I know nothing about golf.” He said well you can learn.”  That’s when I had a long conversation with myself over the night. The next morning I woke up and told my dad to sign me up. He smiled and did what I said. That evening was when I became a part of the PGA golf team.

The first game when I started the team I was a little nervous. I couldn’t hit the ball 2 feet, plus we had to walk 9 holes with a heavy bag on our back which made it even worse. That night I told my dad that I wanted to quit, not because I didn’t like golf but I thought I was terrible. He said,” You just have to practice.” I said,” dad even if I practice I still will be terrible.” He said,” just listen to me.” So I did. That next morning I went up to the range, which is somewhere you practice hitting golf balls. I practiced and practiced and I was noticing I was getting better. I actually found out  what all the clubs were, there is a putter, a 8 iron, a 9 iron, a driver, a Mr. fancy which is one of the of the clubs that I like but it’s not really called Mr.fancy another club is called a chipper, and a sand wedge. When I went home from the range I told my dad,” Hey dad, I took your advice and went to the range.” He said,” That’s great, how did you do.” I told him,” I did great, I saw how much I improved and I have gotten a little better just from that.” He said,” that’s wonderful.” That night I thought to myself maybe I can get really good at golf if I just practice. I said to myself,” You know what, I don’t want to quit. The next game things went really good for me. I did so much better and I didn’t complain has much because of the walking and my friend was on my team and we got paired up together. Since then I have became more excited about playing golf every Sunday. once the season was over, I was sad to see it come to an end. After the season ended, I realized I love golf! Ever since golf season ended my dad has been telling me I could get a scholarship into golf. At first I thought he was crazy, then I started thinking… maybe I can get a scholarship if I work hard. Now I have been trying and trying to be the  best golfer I can be. Now I will wait and see what the future holds. BYE!
